We got a lot of snow! There was at least 8 or 9 inches piled up on the Beag. It's the nice and easy to brush off kind, though--not heavy or icy. After we dug out, we drove to Novaki's for a special treat and get-out-of-town adventure, since it's supposed to snow more tomorrow.
Also, NO mail was delivered today. What the heck! It didn't even snow, today! Slackers.
I finished all my Christmas wrapping (except labels), as of now! Oh, except one thing I plan to get on Monday if I can. It needs to be bought as close to Christmas as possible, so I couldn't acquire it ahead of time. Based on the forecast, we may need to fly down to the Gs on Tuesday afternoon/evening instead of Christmas Eve. Not totally sure at this point, but I'll be prepared for either.

We watched Olive tonight! Olive is 1,000% the best!!!!!

I think we have about six inches of snow so far. We went on a fun tromp earlier to the Ber C&D to buy some milk, and when we got there the parking lot was empty, but when we left there were five cars! Everyone copycatted. The roads were very slippery to walk on, and cars were sliding all around, too. Dean made fun of me for wearing my cashmere leggings, knee socks, and leg warmers underneath my big corduroy snow pants, but then he cheated and wore his Bean Beater under his wool coat, and two pairs of gloves! Not to mention that his furry earflap hat is so warm that it's not even funny. Dean is a big fat cheater! But we knew that already. Also, he looks really handsome in his snow outfit.

Wow, the snow is accumulating so fast!!! Tiny tiny flakes, blizzarding all around. It's pretty.

Snow Day today! But where's the snow?? Come on, snow, it's time to fall!

I actually bought something directly in response to hearing it advertised on the radio today! I was driving along in my car, on the way to Glastonbury, and on came an ad for Jos. A. Banks, mentioning that all their cashmere men's scarves were on sale for only $29, and that they had branches in Avon, Evergreen Walk, and Glastonbury. Dean wants a new scarf or scarves for Christmas (he told me last week), so I went, and they had beautiful scarves, exactly what I was looking for, originally $125 (??!) but on sale for $29 just like the ad said. I really liked two different ones and couldn't decide between them, so after thinking "What Would Dean Do?" I bought both! I also noticed they had nice wool herringbone caps extremely similar to Dean's worn-out one, so we stopped there again on the way back from Dara's and the hat was perfect and was only $20--half price! (I can't just buy him a hat without him trying it on... it has to feel right!) Wowowow. That was one effective advertisement. (Don't worry, I refused to show Dean the scarves, so their actual appearance is still a surprise.)
I also got a pair of alpaca mittens for only $15 at Whole Foods (it's a Christmas present for me, so I don't know about it)! Unlike my gloves, they fit on top of my arm warmers. :-) And they have hidden partial-fingers inside that can be revealed if you fold back a secret flap. They are nifty and uber-snuggly! I picked out a semi-hideous pair (green stripes); it's great!
I had the best pink grapefruit ever for breakfast this morning, but I don't know where I bought it! :-(
Cappuccino at top was from Daybreak Coffee Roasters today. It was a little strong, but otherwise excellent! Where I get cappuccinos these days: Daybreak (when in Glastonbury), Seattle's Best Coffee a.k.a. stand at Borders (when in Farmington/West Hartford), Klekolo World Coffee (when in Middletown), or, if I'm really lucky, Mozzicato Caffé, aka Novaki's (for a really special treat when in Hartford). When in Rocky Hill... I usually avoid cappuccino and maybe get a coffee at Dunkin Donuts or take the Suder Road to Stew Leonard's on the Berlin Turnpike for a coffee. I haven't been to Starbucks in a thousand years! My fav (other than Novaki's, of course) is the Borders stand! They make consistently good foam, and their cappuccinos taste really good. An expert foam-maker of whom I am a big fan trained all the other workers, and they actually learned!
I also had a great cappuccino last month with Susie at Javapalooza in Middletown, and on Tuesday with Susie at The Pepper Barn in Colchester (fantastic hangout!)! And, I got to walk around the decorated-for-Christmas Colchester town green with her and Alex, and see her two beautiful Christmas trees. I love LOVE her ornaments. She also snuck into a kid's consignment shop (I approve!) to get Alex a Christmas surprise while I chatted with him about Christmas and carnivals in the car. :-) It was a great visit!
I'm thirsty for grape juice lately. But I don't have any.

I hardly ever go to Stop & Shop these days (not sure why... it's a good store), but I always seem to go when it's an Annual Meeting or Semi-Annual Meeting day. The Kensington one. It's just a thing, I guess.
After Dean did his treasurer part, the lady sitting next to me at the meeting leaned over and whispered, "You have a very smart guy for a husband." I whispered back, "I know. Thank you!"
I finished Jan's Christmas package tonight! I am v.v.v.v.v.v. pleased with it. I did a theme this year, since she always uses one on me. It was fun.
Got lots done this weekend on my trip blogs/photos/videos, but it's still not quite all done. I discovered how to get my YouTube videos to be available in "high quality" mode, though! I have to save the videos at a higher bit rate (before I upload them, so I can't change any of my old ones at this point), but it makes a huge difference to how good they look on YouTube! I stayed up really late working on stuff over the weekend since I was on a roll, but I was so tired this morning that I accidentally slept until 2. Oops. I guess I was a little sleep-deprived.

Wow, the flooded Connecticut River is wow! SUCH a clear and pretty day! Amazing visibility. I could see Boston in the distance so well, flying to Nancy's. The tall buildings looked distinct, not all hazy.
On the way back, we had a 30-40 knots headwind, and Dean got our speed down to zero knots without stalling! For a while, too. It was cool. We were just hanging there, not moving. Actually we were probably going backwards for a bit, but the readouts can't show negative values. :-)

Hee hee hee. Dean keeps saying, "It's the greatest video ever!!!" I knew he'd say that. I worked on it for a long time, but I am pleased. Can't share it yet, because it goes with my Flying Over Cuba entry. And yep, I'm working on my catch-up blog posts today! With photo and video accompaniment. I can't post until I finish more, though.
