Hmm, I just realized I forgot to include GOAT on my Weird Foods I've Eaten List. Must correct that.

Also, I have an Official Favorite Barista now. He works at Borders, and he makes perfect microfoam every time. Not only that, but he tries to teach the new baristas the art of foam and the meaning of dry, too. I even gave him a dollar tip today, and I never tip baristas. Too bad Borders isn't very convenient to visit regularly.

I heard three Nose Guy-delivered Severe Thunderstorm Warnings on the radio today. "Get indoors or inside a vehicle now!" When the Nose Guy says that, you know he means it. I didn't see any lightning or penny-sized hail where I was, but my huarache sandals got completely flooded. (Again.) And there were a zillion accidents, driving home.

Today's 8/8/08. That's pretty cool.

I can't believe it. My Weird Foods I've Eaten list is up to date!Fish of the New England Coast: yellowtail flounder (supposedly)

(Um, and here's a new Fish of the New England Coast. It's supposed to be a Yellowtail Flounder. Sorry it's so HUGE, but I couldn't resize it without ruining the pattern.)

Next up in the Fish of the New England Coast series: Atlantic Bonito! (Maybe.)

It's all thunderstormy/hard rainy this afternoon so I'm taking the opportunity to work on my Weird Foods I've Eaten List. Didn't add the Maine meats yet (that will be easy), but I skimmed through my fall 2007/winter 2008 Hawaii entries and added TEN new weird fruits. The weird foods list is getting extremely long.

All right, my Maine entries are all officially posted and illustrated, including the brain-eating! You can find them filled in if you scroll down the page, or they're all here in the archives. (Start reading at the bottom of the page for chronological order, of course.) Now I just need to update my Weird Foods I've Eaten list.

Wow! We forgot: yesterday was Tango's birthday! I.e., the 2nd anniversary of the day we got him. Today was OUR anniversary. The 13th! We both gave each other a card with a starfish on it, without knowing about the other guy's card first.

Dean text messaged me after work and asked if I wanted to fly to Parlin ("Sure!!") but he forgot his wallet, so we went to Jaffrey instead!! (We have lots of fuel cash on account there, and used the secret cash stash to get our food.) So I got an anniversary lobster roll! And no, I am not sick of lobster rolls, even though I ate seven in a row. And yes, even after all those Maine lobrolls, I still love Kimball's the most. I think I said something like, "This is the best anniversary dinner ever!!" (in between moans and whimpers). We shared a kiddie-sized cup of peppermint stick ice cream for dessert. (Kimball's portions are gigantic.) Best anniversary dessert ever, too. :-) The clouds were so pretty flying home. Tango swooped among them, through tunnels and corridors and trap doors, soft bluegreys and wispy shapes flying past, constantly changing, a tiny sliver of a daylight moon frolicking with us, in and out of the gaps.

I went to Evergreen Walk this afternoon, and visited the soon-to-be-closed Starbucks. "What's a sweetheart like you doin' in a dump like this?" was playing really quietly on the soundsystem. That has to be the most unexpected song I have ever heard playing in a public place. "Sweetheart Like You"?? Wow. Just, wow. When I realized what it was, I was like, "What?!" Then I started wondering if they were playing weird stuff just because they're closing down.

I yelled at my GPS Guy today. I said, "It is NOT on the right! What the Hell is the matter with you??!" Heeheee. Very uncharacteristic of me. I almost never lose my temper. (Okay, a real person probably wouldn't have even considered it yelling.) It was a trying day. The GPS sent me on several wild goose chases (which of course, having no sense of direction, I blindly followed). He doesn't understand the Buckland area of South Windsor/Manchester very well. But then I got some more Suder blueberries on the way home. I am eating insane amounts of Suder blueberries. Like an entire container per day.

I'm really tired tonight so I'll have to finish my Maine posts tomorrow. I only have two left, though! I also have only about one chapter of Terraplane left. I started it on Sunday night in Portland.

Why'd the new X-Files movie get such bad reviews? I liked it!
