Huffing Tiger because of your comment. I like it when I get lots of oXygen.

I was just reading some blogs and blog comments written by people who hate summer and are delightedly welcoming fall. I truthfully had never even imagined that it was possible not to like summer. My mind is blown.

Listening to Live 1975 and I love the way it trembles in my hand.

This is the nicest day of the summer! (Weather-wise, I mean.)

I managed to cram all my crayons!

They had travel Vicks at Super Foodmart. Travel Vicks. Of course I bought it. It comes in a little round tin, a lot like Tiger, except with a larger circumference. Blue tin and cherry red tin. Numb lips. I'm just going to sit around inhaling them all night. Camphor and menthol and eucalyptus. Menthol comes from peppermint oil. The other two are beautiful trees. [Edit: This picture looks just like that cool H.O.V.E. tree! The H.O.V.E. tree is a type of eucalyptus!]

!!!!!! JELLYFISH STICKERS!!

"Don't know if I saw you, if I would kiss you or kill you
It probably wouldn't matter to you anyhow..."

They have Pumpkin Injunctions already, at Shrunkin'. I didn't try one, though. I thought the Pumpkin Injunction was supposed to apply to October...

Gas is 2.04 in Kensington (I wrote it on my hand so I'd remember). That means Kensington is the most expensive town around (ha!), because it was 2.02 near Oats, and less than $2. (1.98, I think) in Cromwell, where I actually bought some yesterday. (I just went to the cheapest place by chance. Maybe it's one of those special Laura Luck things, like getting good tables at restaurants.) Drizzly dark Thursday. Lovely Thursday.

Listening to The Hawks over and over and over. So so great. The part where they dedicate "A Sweeter Girl Than You Has Never Been Born" to "John" cracks me up every time, though.

One of the books I got from the library sale shelf this time is The World We Live in, Volume 1 (the first four billion years). Love that title. Another fantastic '60s book, full of amazing illustrations. Cycads! Lots of them. And all kinds of crazy things. Ancestral echinoderms. "The Seas Grow Crowded." Fantastical trees that look like giant asparagus. Squid, squidding along, sending out clouds of ink, underneath Loch Ness Monsters. Deep sea creatures, looking like a Bosch nightmare, illustrating the how the depths of the sea were formed. There's something about these books. The style of the drawings, the colours, the texture of the paper. I love the smell of Tiger Balm.

Aaagh. This guy at the library snagged Dangerous Sea Creatures off the sale shelf one microsecond before I did. What a massive tongue massage. I hung around forever waiting to see if he was really going to buy it and he kept looking and looking and looking at things while my brain slowly imploded. After I'd scanned over every book about two thousand times I finally gave up and checked my stuff out. I went back after Klekolo to see if he'd put it back, but it wasn't there. Did get a few other cool rejects, though. I wanted that book! It had jellyfish. Among other things.

Ran into every red light today, but I liked it. Listening to WW! "Standing In the Doorway" sounded unbelievably incredible. They should make paper with a surface texture exactly like this magazine. It's fantastic for writing on. (Had to take notes on the back page because my Chinese Notebook's all full.)

I need a Chinese Notebook replacement. There's barely one square inch of blank space left to write on. But I don't want a new one. I like that one.

[Chinese Notebook, 2:36 PM:] It's really fall. The trees don't know it yet, but the air does. SOAR on my CD player, exceptional tall vanilla dry cappuccino from the Oats Starbucks. I need the warmth. This is the best foam I've had in a long time. Wonderful consistency, fluffy, delicious. There's a door shut on summer, and it seemed like it never really started. Temperature dial on the Beag just past noon: 12:32.

I hate being cold.

The easiest way you can tell it's Officially Autumn is the feeling in the air when you wake up. There's just this chill, even if the day ends up being warm. Nippy. But, my kitchen counter is covered in tomatoes!

Anyway, I can completely see why Martin Scorsese and Robbie are pals. They're perfect for each other.
